Audrey Lizotte

Board Member

Audrey Lizotte was appointed as a member of the FPSLREB in June 2022 for a 5-year term. Ms. Lizotte has practiced in the fields of labour, employment and human rights law since 1993, following the completion of her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree obtained from Dalhousie University. Ms. Lizotte is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and also holds a Bachelor in Education degree from l’Université de Moncton.

The first half of her career was dedicated to the practice of law, initially in private practice in a boutique labour and employment law firm, and subsequently as senior in-house counsel for one of Canada’s largest Crown Corporations as part of their labour litigation team. Ms. Lizotte then held various senior and executive level roles in Human Resources and Labour Relations. In 2018, she launched her own business as Mediator and Workplace Investigator assisting organizations in the public and private sectors with a wide range of complex workplace issues involving human rights and occupational health and safety. In 2020, Ms. Lizotte joined one of Canada’s largest federal public service unions where she took on the role of Director of Policy and Negotiations and General Counsel.

In addition to being a seasoned litigator, Ms. Lizotte has extensive experience in the field of collective bargaining having acted as lead negotiator throughout her career in the federal, provincial, private and public sectors. Ms. Lizotte’s advocacy experience is further enhanced by her participation in a number of multi-lateral federal consultation and legislative review committees over her career, including the review of the Access to Information and Pay Equity legislation, and updates to the Canada Labour Code and Ontario Labour Relations Act.

Ms. Lizotte’s experience provide her with an in-depth understanding of the realities of a modern and complex workplace and the various evolving legal questions arising for employers and employees alike.
