Board Member

Prior to her appointment to the Board, Ms. Engmann worked as a civil litigator in the Department of Justice where her practice was focused on Labour and Employment Law. She brings to the Board a wealth of experience in labour relations, litigation and procedural law. Before joining the Federal Department of Justice, she worked as counsel in the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario, and then within the Ontario Legal Aid Clinic system as counsel and advocate. During her career, she has worked on various matters in the areas of racial discrimination and human rights. She has appeared before all levels of courts in the Ontario court system, the Federal Courts as well as various administrative tribunals.

Ms. Engmann holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Honours) degree from the University of Ghana (accredited through the University of Toronto under the Joint Committee for Foreign Accreditation) and a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M. in International Resource Management Law) from the University of Alberta.
