Guy Giguère

Part-time Board Member

Mr. Giguère brings over 20 years of experience as an adjudicator and mediator in the areas of labour, employment, human rights and administrative law. He was also Chairperson of the Canadian Council of Administrative Tribunals from 2009 to 2015 where he participated in the training of new members of administrative tribunals.

He holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the Université de Montréal. He was legal counsel with various federal departments before his appointment in 1998 as a member of the Public Service Staff Relations Board (PSSRB). In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Chairperson of the PSSRB where he served until his appointment as Chairperson of the Public Service Staffing Tribunal (PSST) from 2005 to 2014.

In 2015, he was appointed as President of Disciplinary Councils for the Office des Professions du Québec in Montréal. From 2017 to 2019, he was Vice-Chairperson of the Appeal Division of the Social Security Tribunal and for a period was acting Chairperson. In 2020, he started a dispute resolution practice in mediation and arbitration in labour, employment and human rights law.
